DOB: July 14, 2003

"Rusty"  was the only chocolate out of a litter of 6. I knew he was going to be special so I decided to keep him. His sire is GMHR Tiger’s Virginia Jack Daddy (yellow), a son of FC-AFC-MHR Westwind’s Bold Tiger, the 1984 National Derby Champion. His dam is Southland Teal (black), a daughter of my beloved GMHR Southland Leroy Brown (the very first chocolate ever produced at Southland Kennels) and Southland Shadow Dancer.

He is a line breeding on Westwind’s Bold Tiger, as “Tiger” was also Leroy’s sire. At 8 weeks of age, my friend Susan picked him up and raised him for me. And raise him, she did! Rusty developed into a very unique combination of being a loving, playful and friendly boy in the house who loves to have his ears scratched, to a stylish, 75 lb. retrieving machine in the field. He had a successful Derby career (up to two years of age) in limited trialing, obtaining Derby points and Jams (Judge’s Award of Merit).

Rusty is an excellent marker as well as proficient on blind retrieves. He is now running the Qualifying and has several placements and JAMS. He will continue running the Qualifying this Spring in addition to running some UKC Hunt Tests.

OFA Hips (Good), OFA Elbows (Normal), CERF (Clear) and CNM (Clear)

Stud Fee: $500
