“Duck” was born at Southland Kennels on a cold New Year’s Day.  Richard A Wolters, famous author of retriever training books (ex. Game Dog, Water Dog, etc.), claimed he was the best dog he had ever owned. Richard wrote, “Being the expert I am on writing, in books and magazines about picking a pup from a litter, plus my being a very dominant personality... Olive, my wife, picked Duck out.”   At nine months old Duck earned his Working Retriever title.  He became a Master Hunter at sixteen months.  At the age of two he qualified at the 1993 NAHRA Invitational.  Duck is a happy dog, positive and confident, willing, loving and loyal.  He is a credit to Southland Kennels.
